FAQs
THINKING ABOUT JOINING?
-
At Symetrie, we've spent the last 10 years building more than just a gym.
We've built a community of people who genuinely enjoy training together, support one another and show up consistently to become stronger, healthier and more capable for life.
You'll find expert coaching, progressive programming and a welcoming environment where everyone knows your name and wants to see you succeed.
-
Absolutely.
Many of our members joined because they wanted more structure, accountability and confidence in their training.
Whether you're completely new to strength training or have years of experience, our coaches will meet you where you're at and help you progress safely and confidently.
You'll never be expected to know everything before walking through the door. That's our job.
-
No.
Symetrie is an inclusive gym that welcomes people of all ages, backgrounds and fitness levels.
Whether you're just starting your fitness journey, returning after time away from exercise or already training regularly, you'll find a supportive environment where everyone is encouraged to train at their own pace.
Our coaches will help you build confidence, develop good movement habits and progress in a way that suits your individual goals and experience level.
-
If you have clearance from your physio, doctor or healthcare professional to continue exercising, our coaches can help modify movements and exercises so you can continue training safely.
You're welcome to send us any communication or recommendations from your physio or doctor before class so we can better understand your injury and make appropriate modifications.
Alternatively, you can simply let your coach know before class and they'll work with you to adjust the session as needed.
Symetrie generally attracts people who share similarities in the way they want to move and feel and what they want to achieve. Generally, our members want to look good, work on being the fittest version of themselves, become and stay moving pain-free, or make friends and belong to a community (or all of the above!).
Our experienced Symetrie trainers are always happy to chat if you find yourself questioning if Symetrie is the right gym for you.
-
Just yourself, a water bottle and a towel.
We have a unisex bathroom on site if you'd like to shower or get changed before or after class. You'll also find a few essentials on hand, including deodorant and hair ties, just in case.
-
For your first session, we recommend arriving 5–10 minutes early so we can show you around, introduce you to your coach and answer any questions.
-
Most Symetrie classes run for 45 minutes.
Each session is professionally programmed and coach-led.
On Saturdays, classes run for 60 minutes, allowing more time for longer endurance-focused training and team-based workouts.
You'll always know exactly what to do and have a coach there to guide you throughout the session.
-
Group workout classes are capped at a maximum of 36 people.
For all Strength classes, we maintain a coaching ratio of approximately 1 coach for every 16 members, with two coaches on the floor to ensure members receive plenty of guidance, technique feedback and support throughout the session.
Our class structure is designed to balance energy, community and individual attention, so you'll never feel like you're training in a crowded room without coaching support.
-
Symetrie memberships are available to everyone 16 years or older.
If you are under 18, your parent or guardian will need to sign a waiver in person.
MEMBERSHIPS & BOOKINGS
-
s21 is our introduction to Symetrie for new members.
You'll receive 21 days of unlimited training to experience our coaching, community and training approach before deciding whether membership is right for you.
There is no lock-in and no obligation to continue after your 21 days.
-
The easiest way to manage everything is through the Symetrie App, available on both the App Store and Google Play.
Using the app you can:

Check membership and payment information
-
Membership payments are on a fortnightly direct debit (Mindbody Payments is the billing company). Your fortnightly cycle will start on whichever day that you decide to join Symetrie.
-
Unlimited Members can book classes up to 14 days in advance.
Limited Memberships, Class Packs, Casual Visits and ClassPass users can book classes up to 7 days in advance.
Our peak early morning classes are reserved exclusively for Symetrie members and are not available through ClassPass.
-
If your plans change, you can cancel your booking through the Symetrie App up to 4 hours before class without penalty.
Cancellations made within 4 hours of class will incur a $5 late cancellation fee. For Limited Memberships and Class Packs, the session will also be forfeited.
If you don't attend a booked class and haven't cancelled, a $10 no-show fee will apply.
These policies help ensure fair access to classes and allow waitlisted members the opportunity to train when spots become available.
WAITLISTS
-
Outside the final 4 hours before class, waitlists operate automatically in numerical order.
If a spot becomes available, the next person on the waitlist will automatically be added into the class.
Within the final 4 hours before class, waitlists move to a first in, best dressed system.
Everyone on the waitlist receives a text message notification and the first person to claim the spot secures the booking.
